How to choose the right outdoor furniture for your garden

Posted on 13th June 2019 at 12:27 pm by Victoria Malcolm / 0

Are you looking for new outdoor furniture for your garden but you just don’t know quite where to start? There’s a wide range of furniture types and materials out there that it can be tricky to narrow down exactly what to invest in at any given time. Our advice is to reflect on your favourite ways to pass the time in your garden and see if that steers you in a particular direction! Here’s some ideas to get you started:

Simply relaxing

It sounds rather obvious, but if heaven to you is simply taking some time out to sit in your garden and do nothing more than read a newspaper or a good book, then some comfortable seating and a side table might be all you need. POLYWOOD has stand-alone garden seating that includes the classic New England Adirondack and super-soft Deep Seating as shown below. Shop the look here.

Sun worshipping

If you have a south-facing garden and love to sunbathe then it makes sense to ensure you have some kind of sun lounger to enjoy when the British weather turns warm. POLYWOOD’s sun loungers include both classic and contemporary styles and have the added benefit of being able to be left in the garden even when the sun goes in! All you need to do is make sure you have sunscreen and shades to hand when the sun next shows its face…

Entertaining

Did you know that there were 137million BBQs in the UK during 2018? The amazing summer weather we had last year would certainly have something to do with it, but there’s certainly a growing trend for outdoor entertaining that shows no sign of slowing down. If you love to gather friends and loved ones in your garden for al fresco meals (and have the space!) then a full outdoor dining set cold be just the ticket. Explore POLYWOOD dining sets here.

Intimate drinks

If outdoor relaxing means chatting about your day or planning future dreams over a drink with your partner in crime, something a little different may be required. A tall, narrow bar table and matching stools will provide the perfect perch for intimate drinks and enjoying the fresh air after a long day at work. This type of outdoor furniture is ideal if you have limited space, such as a small balcony or courtyard garden – shop the look here.

The informal gathering

If your idea of chilling out is an informal, impromptu gathering of whoever happens to be free when the sun is shining then a mish-mash of side tables, outdoor sofas and small dining sets might be just the ticket. Why not combine several styles of POLYWOOD in the same colour to pull it all together into a design scheme in your garden or go for an eclectic blend of your favourite pieces? Explore all the POLYWOOD possibilities here.
